The business entity known today as Reemee Medicare Nigeria Limited started as a partnership between late Dr. Mahmud Umar (surgeon) and Dr. Waziri Saleh (Gynecologist) in 1991 under the name Rimi Clinic and Maternity. Dr. Saleh Later withdrew from the partnership, while Late Dr. Mahmud continued running the clinic on a sole proprietorship up to the period he died in a road traffic accident in 1999. His family continued to run the Clinic with the brother-in-law of the deceased, Alh. Muhammad M. Maishanu, as the sole Administrator. However, in 2003 the family decided to lease out the Clinic to Dr. Umaru Adamu who was an employee of the clinic at the time. In 2008, the lease arrangement with Dr. Umaru Adamu was terminated and the family took over the Clinic. The name was immediately changed to “Reemee Medicare Nigeria Limited” which was one of the companies incorporated by the late proprietor and registered with corporate affairs commission in 1998. New management with three additional members of the Board of Directors was constituted to run the affairs of the Clinic. The new invigorated Board embarked on total restructuring and re-organisation of the whole set up of the clinic. Towards the end of 2008 renovation and reconstruction of part of the buildings was embarked upon in phases and completed. Untrained staff were relieved and paid off whilst additional staff ranging from Doctors, Pharmacists, Laboratory Technicians and Nurses were employed with new condition of service and salary structure introduced. In 2013, a new Electronic Medical Record (EMR) software (SwiftPractice) computerizing the whole operations of the clinic was installed to compliment the out-look of the clinic and put it towards achieving its VISION and MISSION.
